Mixing religion and politics?

Stereotypically, people of certain religions tend to identify with a particular political party. For example, some are generally more conservative and Republican, like Baptist or Methodist, while the Democratic vote is largely from Catholics and people of the Jewish faith. While I realize there are always exceptions (such as myself!) do you feel that your political views are parallel to your religious perspectives? Please state which religion you are and your political affiliation, if any. Thanks!
