Teddy Bear Hamster Questions!!?

okay, clean his cage once every week and if its really,really dirty twice a week :) but, mine never got like that. the shelf thing is fine as long as he can still run in the wheel.i don't think he can get out anyway, just watch for holes when u play with him outside the cage. you can get the tubes if you want, you don't have to this will keep him very busy though haha ;) DO NOT GIVE HIM RAT FOOD. it can harm him, only hamster and gerbil food, and give veggies in small ammounts like every other day, it can cause some prolems if given to muc.feed him one table spoon twice a day. he will probably store most of it though hahah :) carrots,corn,greenbeans are good for him, no iceberg lettace. probably about 30 mins but at night or early mornings thats when they are most active well they can get pretty big i had a HUGE one before, but i would get a 7in. i think that would be good.you can never tell if he won't bite you really, just spend time holding him, let him get used to his cage by leaving him alone for 3-5 days don't touch or hold him, he will get super stressed! about 15mins in the ball is good :) and rats and hamsters wouldn't breed? they are to different animals it wouldn't happen even if it could, how would he get into the rats shut cage? and taddy bear hamsters live alone, they will fight because they are very territorial, unlike dwarf hammies that live in pairs. don't feel bad they are probably not his brothers just strangers all put in the same cage probably from different rodent mills. :( besides they only are together now because they are babies and don't know better. I hope I helped i would hate for you to go through the horrible time i had with my hammies, although i loved my babies dearly, they all got sick in a very short time, my first i had for only 3 days then he got wet-tail watch out for that , its when the tail and are wet and dirty, they smell horrible :( i don't know how my others died :( i loved them all so muchh :( hamster bits don't hurt that much its only a lil pinch it never drew blood for me :(. i miss my boys alot :( RIP CURLY,LOUIE,AND PEACHES. they are such great pets mine where all teddy bear hamsters or long haired hamsters, they are a joy to have, best of luck!
