Are a walking foot and an even feed foot the same thing for sewing?

I have sewing machine model 15 and I want to quilt. I've read up and it says that I might need a walking foot but the only foot I can find for my machine is a even feed foot. Is that the same thing or is it different? Could I use that for quilting anyways? Do I really need one?
